Student Agreement Form

Participating in our Homestay program is a unique opportunity for you to be fully immersed in the Australian culture. Your English will certainly improve and you will leave the Gold Coast with many memories. Below is a list of simple rules to make your transition easier and an agreement between Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd. and _________________ ___________________________ , (the Student/Guardian), under which Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd. agrees to arrange and the Student agrees to accept a placement with a Host family under all of the below listed terms and conditions. Please read this form carefully, print, sign it and mail or fax it as indicated below. We will also need two passport pictures.

  • A non-refundable booking fee of $100 to be paid when submitting the application form.

  • Full payment, details of visa and flight schedule must be finalized at least 6 weeks prior to arrival.
  • Full fees will be refunded if the student cancels booking 28 days or more prior to arrival. Booking fee of $100 will not be refunded.
  • 50% of full fees will be refunded if student cancels booking 14-27days prior to arrival. Booking fee of $100 will not be refunded.
  • Full fees will not be refunded if the student cancels less than 14 days prior to arrival. Booking fee of $100 will not be refunded.
  • If no cancellation is given and the student does not attend then all fees will be due and no refund given.
  • Full fees are not refunded if the student arrives late or departs before the end of the booked stay.
  • Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd. has the right to cancel or re-schedule a programme in the case of cancellation by Homestay Family. Second or third preference Homestay Families will be offered if available or recommended substitute made by Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd..
  • The homestay student agrees to abide by all reasonable house rules.
  • You will be responsible for your own personal care products and international calls.
  • Please offer to pay for your own items when you are out with your Host family.
  • To avoid any misunderstandings, we recommend that you keep your room neat and clean.
  • Due to Australia's many laws protecting its citizens rights and freedoms, the student agrees that he/she cannot request a change in their Host family based on race, religion or any other culturally based difference.
  • The student understands that Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd. cannot verify all of the information provided by the Host family.
  • The student verifies that he/she has answered all of the questions correctly on the Student Application Form.
  • The student agrees to make reparations to the Host family for any financial damage or injury to the person or property of others that he/she may cause.
  • The student agrees to abide by all of the laws of Australia that pertain to this agreement.
  • Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd. or its accredited agents finalise all arrangements for their Homestay programme upon the express condition that it shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delays generally or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle, vessel or aircraft, or through the Act of Default of any company or person engaged in conveying or accommodation of students, or in the carrying out of arrangements of the programme or otherwise in connection herewith.
  • Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd. is not liable for and denies all responsibility for personal injury caused by circumstances outside its control. Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd. cannot accept responsibility for any Host Family changing or withdrawing details on services shown; all are subject to alteration without notice.
  • The student must take out travel insurance to cover himself/herself for such things as loss of baggage and medical expenses. It is the responsibility of the student to understand their policy and to pay for any medical treatment and supplies that are not covered by the policy. Homestay familiea are authorised to arrange for any necessary medical treatment, including hospitalization.


I have read and understand that Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd. will place me with a Host family based on the information that I have provided and that they will do their best to guarantee that all of my personal preferences will be met. I also understand and agree to release Dakkoala Homestay Pty. Ltd. and agree to indemnify them with regard to any financial damage or injury to the person or property of others that I may cause.

All participates agree and acknowledge that any and all facsimilated copies of this, the Student Agreement Form, will be treated as the original and is thus legally binding between all parties.
